A study done on echolocation on Eastern bent-wing bats showed that, "Seven of the colonies had very similar peak frequencies, while only one colony was significantly higher than the others (Zhang, et al 2018)".[2] The similarity that was seen between the seven colonies was due to "Frequent dispersal and migration (Zhang, et al 2018)".[3]
Taxonomy
This species was once considered a subspecies of the common bent-wing bat, but now it has been accepted that the eastern bent-winged bat and Australasian bent-winged bat are two separate species.[4]
