A Quiet Place: Day One is an upcoming American post-apocalyptic horror film written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, based on an original story by John Krasinski. It is intended to be a spin-off prequel, and the third overall installment of the A Quiet Place film series. The film is scheduled to be released theatrically on June 28, 2024.

Production
Development
In November 2020, Paramount Pictures announced a spin-off film set within the same world as A Quiet Place, with Jeff Nichols set to write and direct, based on an original story by John Krasinski. Krasinski will also serve as producer alongside Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller.[5] The film is a co-production between Paramount Pictures, Sunday Night Productions, and Platinum Dunes.[6] In May 2021, Krasinski announced that the script is complete and submitted to the studio.[7] By October of the same year however, Nichols dropped out of the film due to creative differences while the studio was reported to be quickly looking for a replacement.[8] In January 2022, Michael Sarnoski was announced to replace Nichols as writer and director.[9] In April 2022 at CinemaCon, the film's title was officially announced as A Quiet Place: Day One.[10]
Casting
The casting of Lupita Nyong'o and Joseph Quinn was reported in November 2022.[1][11] Alex Wolff was cast in January 2023.[2] In March, it was announced that Djimon Hounsou was reprising his role from A Quiet Place Part II as the unnamed "Man on the Island".[3] Denis O'Hare joined the cast the following month.[4]
Filming
Principal photography began on February 6, 2023 in London,[12][13] and wrapped on April 11.[14]
Release
The film is set to release on June 28, 2024.[15] It was previously scheduled to be released on March 31, 2023, then on September 22, 2023, and on March 8, 2024.[16][17]
