Daniel Lee Benson (born September 10, 1987) is an American adult entertainer and former actor. He is best known for his regular roles as Zeke Beakerman on Wizards of Waverly Place and Ethan on Rick and Morty. In 2022, he received widespread attention after joining the online subscription service OnlyFans.[1][2]
Life and career
Benson was born on September 10, 1987 in Springfield, Missouri to Jim and Marilee Benson.[3] He moved to Florida with his family at the age of 15, where he along with his two younger brothers, Michael and Nick, attended an acting and modelling scouting session hosted by a local talent agent.[4]Benson was selected to be represented by Hines & Hunt Entertainment and he appeared in numerous national commercials, feature films, and bit parts on television.[5][6] He made his debut in the short film Young Artie Feldman, and appeared in the comedy film Little Black Book and the NBC drama series American Dreams, before going on to appear in several television shows on the Disney Channel, including Phil of the Future and Zoey 101.[7][8] In 2007, Benson began playing the role of Zeke Beakerman in the fantasy teen sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place on Disney Channel. The character served as the best friend of main character Justin Russo, played by David Henrie.[9][10] Benson appeared in all four seasons of the show until it's cancellation in 2012.[11][12] In 2013, Benson began voicing the character Ethan in the sci-fi animated comedy Rick and Morty, which he did on a recurring basis until 2017.[13] Benson went on to appear in several short films and made guest appearances in television series, however currently has no mainstream acting credits beyond 2018.[14][15][16]
Benson is active on the adult online subscription service OnlyFans where he uploads pornographic content as well as masturbation videos on Pornhub, which in June 2022 received widespread attention from the gay community on Twitter and saw him gain over 80,000 new followers in the space of a week.[17][18][19][20][21][22] Following the mass coverage of his new venture, Benson thanked "Gay Twitter" for their support and pledged to support LGBTQ causes and charities.[23][24][25][26][27] Benson said in an interview for the Los Angeles Times that he "fell into pornography" after he would get messages from women he found "incredibly attractive" who were "not who they [said] they were [...] and because Benson would send nude photos to them, those photos would be posted onto online websites.[28][29][30][31][32][33][34] In 2023, Benson secured tenth position among the top 10 most searched gay adult performers of the year on Pornhub.[35]
