Devin "DJ" Benton (born November 18, 1999) is an American soccer player who currently plays for One Knoxville SC in USL League One.

Career

Youth

Born in Orlando, Florida , Benton played his youth club soccer with Hoover Soccer Club and Vestavia Hills Soccer Club, before joining the Atlanta United academy in 2016, and later captained the Houston Dynamo in 2017. academy. In the summer of 2018, Benton also appeared for Houston's USL PDL affiliate side Brazos Valley Cavalry, making four appearances.

College

In 2018, Benton attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham to play college soccer. In two seasons with the Blazers, Benton made 34 appearances.

Professional

On August 27, 2021, Benton signed a professional deal with USL League One side North Texas SC where he joined late August of 2021, and appeared in 8/10 games . He made his debut the following day, appearing as an 88th-minute substitute during a 0–0 draw with Union Omaha.

Benton signed with Chattanooga Red Wolves SC on January 14, 2022. Where the 22 year old made 30 appearances and helpled lead the side to the USL League One Final. Benton logged 2,115 minutes across the 2022 league campaign making 24 starts. He led the Redwolves with a team high 42 interceptions,along with 56 clearances and 10 blocks, and also won 21 0f 33 tackles, 117 of 234 duels and posted a 79.2% passing accuracy rate.

Benton joined North Carolina FC on December 27, 2022. Benton appeared in 26 league games as NCFC won the 2023 USL League One championship.

ON January 9, 2024, Benton signed One Knoxville SC of USL League One.
