It was contested between Sydney Olympic and Heidelberg United.[1][2] The first leg was played at St George Stadium in Sydney on 6 November 1983. The second leg was played at Olympic Park in Melbourne on 13 November 1983. Sydney Olympic won 2–0 on aggregate for their first NSL Cup title.[3]
