Английская Википедия:1984 Hudson Valley UFO sightings
The 1984 Hudson Valley UFO Sightings were UFO sightings that occurred during the summer of 1984 in New York and Western Connecticut. Sightings took place in northern Westchester County, Dutchess County, Putnam County and Fairfield County.
Local residents reported seeing objects that were about the size of an American football field, "usually in a V-shape or a circle", according to the New York Times. The objects seen were described as having flashing lights, which one resident perceived as the UFO "Letting us know it knew we were watching it". The objects seen were also described as being able to shoot straight up in the sky and hover in the air for extended periods of time. The sightings caused a sensation and many UFO enthusiasts traveled to the Hudson Valley in hopes of seeing one.
However, state police identified the lights as coming from a group of local pilots flying in close formation.[1] A spokesman for Stewart International Airport said that the actions "were not illegal, but it's annoying,".[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]
