Agathodesmus is a genus of millipedes in the family Haplodesmidae, first described by Filippo Silvestri in 1910.[1][2] The type species is A. steeli.[1] Members of this genus are found in the Australian states of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia, and in New Caledonia.[1]

Taxonomy

In 1926, J. Carl described the same genus as Atopogonus.[3] This name has been regarded as a junior synonym of Agathodesmus following a 2009 paper by Robert Mesibov.[1][4]
