Other names in common use include L-alanine-alpha-keto acid aminotransferase, leucine-alanine transaminase, alanine-keto acid aminotransferase, and alanine-oxo acid aminotransferase. This enzyme participates in alanine and aspartate metabolism. It employs one cofactor, pyridoxal phosphate.
