Материал из Онлайн справочника
Alfred Jackson (1812–1901) was an African American body servant, carriage driver, stableman, tenant farmer, building caretaker, and tour guide at the Hermitage, Andrew Jackson's mansion in Tennessee, United States. Alfred was born on the Hermitage around 1812.[1] He lived at the Hermitage longer than any other person,[2] and was a valued living history resource in later life,[3][4] especially after the Ladies' Hermitage Association took over the building in 1889.[5] He is buried next to Andrew Jackson in the Hermitage graveyard.[6][7]
