Amphissites is an extinct genus of ostracod (seed shrimp) belonging to the suborder Beyrichicopina (ornamented beyrichiocopids[1]) and family Amphissitinae.[2][3] Species belonging to the genus lived from the Devonian[4] to the Permian[5] in Europe,[6][7] North America,[8] Australia,[9] and east Asia.[10][11] The genus were likely deposit-feeders, and may have survived briefly into the Triassic.[12]
