Brandon Ewing, known online as Atrioc, is an American live streamer, YouTuber and speedrunner known for his frequent collaborations with fellow streamer and ASU alumnus Ludwig Ahgren. He is known for his marketing-related series Marketing Monday, using his prior experience to give presentations within the marketing field to his audience. Ewing is also a former world record holder in speedrunning the video game series Hitman. He began streaming consistently at the beginning of 2020, and has over 315,000 followers as of May 2023.[1]

Career

Before streaming

During college, Ewing was an avid League of Legends player, eventually reaching rank 13 in North America during the game's second season in 2012.[2] While studying at Arizona State University, he founded the university's Esports Club, which he himself attended.[3]

After graduating with a degree in marketing, Ewing started his career at Twitch in February 2014 as a marketing and content manager,[4] before moving on to work under marketing at graphics card manufacturer Nvidia.[5] At Nvidia, he has worked on many projects, including the introduction of the GeForce RTX Keyboard Keycap and presenting the final E3 GameReady winners as the GeForce host at E3.[6][7]

Streaming career

Ewing is active in the Super Smash Bros. Melee scene.Шаблон:Citation needed As a streamer, he became involved in the Hitman speedrunning scene, innovating upon many levels previously thought to be completely explored.Шаблон:Citation needed

Ewing entered the scene of Age of Empires IV by competing in a number of competitive matches until he reached the top 1,000 players.[8]

During September 2021, Ewing's Twitch account was banned.[9] The reasoning behind this decision was not disclosed, but many believe it was due to his playing through a Wikipedia speedrun involving NSFW content that breaches Twitch guidelines, such as "erection", "human penis", and "arousal".[10][note 1]

During the controversy surrounding Valkyrae's endorsement contract with RFLCT, Ewing continued to stream. Whilst streaming, Ewing unintentionally leaked conversations between Valkyrae and Ludwig about Valkyrae's considerations of leaving RFLCT and her contract.[11] It was seen that Valkyrae felt she "messed up" due to Ewing's leak of the Discord conversation.[12] This incident was seen as a pivotal point in wrapping up the RFLCT drama.

On the launch day of Elden Ring in early 2022, Ewing spent seven hours attempting to beat the first optional boss.[13] He was sponsored by Public.com during late 2022,[14] which was one of his first big sponsors, paving the way for his content creation agency, Offbrand, started in September 2022 by Ewing, Ludwig Ahgren, Stanz, and Nick Allen.[15] Ewing announced his involvement on September 28.[16] This agency helps connect content creators to brand sponsors, helps organize events, and helps creators' ideas become reality.[17]

During a live stream on January 30, 2023, Ewing accidentally revealed a browser tab with a pornographic website selling deepfakes of other live streamers, including Pokimane and QTCinderella.[18][19][20] In response to the controversy, Ewing apologized and resigned from Offbrand.[21] QTCinderella described her friendship with him as irreparable following the incident.[22][23] In the following months, Ewing spent more than USD$100,000[24] to take down other deepfake porn images across the internet, working with QTCinderella, among others.[25][26] According to independent analyst Genevieve Oh, web traffic for deepfake pornography exploded after the incident.[27] Following the events, Ewing, with the help of Genevieve Oh, started writing a piece that he hopes to publish with BBC.[28]

Personal life

Ewing currently lives in Los Angeles, California.[29]
