Biography
Batzorig was born in 1977 in Mongolia. In 2014 he started throat singing on Youtube. He uploaded a video of him singing Ode to Chinggis Khaan, a Mongol folk song, on top of a mountain in Bayanhongor, Mongolia.[1] The video got a total of 20 million views as of 2024. Batzorig is also part of a musical band called Khusugtun. In 2020, Batzorig posted a video of his throat singing with his daughter, Maral Vaanchig. The video also became famous as it reached almost 5 million views.[2]
In August 2023, Batzorig was on CNN performing his throat singing to Richard Quest in Ulaanbaatar, during Quest's visit in Mongolia.[3]
