The Central District of Shushtar County (Шаблон:Lang-fa) is in Khuzestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Shushtar.[1]
At the National Census in 2006, its population was 161,714 in 33,999 households.[2] The following census in 2011 counted 169,224 people in 40,566 households.[3] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 139,040 inhabitants in 37,243 households,[4] by which time Miyan Ab Rural District and Miyan Ab-e Shomali Rural District had been separated from the district in the establishment of Miyan Ab District.[5]
