It serves as the mother church of the Diocese of Ciudad Altamirano (Шаблон:Lang), created by Pope Paul VI in 1964 through the bull "Populo Dei". It is under the pastoral responsibility of Bishop Maximino Martínez Miranda.Шаблон:Cn
