Delicious Orie (born 31 May 1997) is a British[1][2] amateur boxer who won a bronze medal at the 2022 European Championships[3] and a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, representing England.
Orie was born in Moscow to a Nigerian father and a Russian mother, facing racial prejudice due to the colour of his skin.[1] He moved to England at age seven and settled in Wolverhampton a few years later.[1] He attended Colton Hills Community School in the Penn area of Wolverhampton where his initial sporting focus was basketball, transitioning to boxing later on at college and university.
Orie's father revealed in a BBC interview that Orie's name was inspired by vocalist Delious Kennedy from the American R&B and pop group 'All for One'.
