The village is located ca. Шаблон:Convert south of Alqosh and ca. Шаблон:Convert north of Telskuf in the Nineveh Plains. It belongs to the disputed territories of Northern Iraq.[2][3]

Dughata has an exclusively Yazidi population.[3]
