Шаблон:Short description Шаблон:Use American English Шаблон:Use mdy dates Шаблон:Infobox school district The Dumont Public Schools are a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade from Dumont, in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.[1]

As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprised of five schools, had an enrollment of 2,540 students and 208.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.2:1.[2]

The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "FG", the fourth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[3]

History

Genevieve Via Cava, a former special education teacher for the district, bequeathed the school district $1 million after her 2011 death. She retired from teaching in 1990 and had no remaining immediate family. The donation was revealed in 2018.[4]
