Farzana Yasmin Ananna (Bengali: ফারজানা ইয়াসমিন অনন্যা; born 06 July 2000) is a Bangladeshi model, politician and who was crowned Miss International Bangladesh 2023. She represented Bangladesh in the Miss International 2023 Beauty Pageant. Ananna was the first runner-up in the Miss Universe Bangladesh 2020 pageant.[1]

Early life and education

Farzana Yasmin Ananna is an individual from Jessore, Khulna, Bangladesh, who attended Daud Public College for her early education. She pursued her higher education at the University of Dhaka, where she specialized in women and gender studies. From a young age, Ananna has actively participated in Chatra League politics.[2][3]

Pageantry

Miss Universe Bangladesh 2020

Farzana Yasmin Ananna, a participant from Dhaka University, took part in the Miss Universe Bangladesh 2020 competition, where she achieved the position of first runner-up. Additionally, Ananna was acknowledged with the title of Miss Congeniality.[4]

Miss International 2023

Farzana Yasmin Ananna achieved the title of 'Miss International Bangladesh 2023' after being crowned in the final regional competition held at Lakeshore Hotel in the capital.[5] On October 9, 2023, she embarked on a journey to Japan as the representative of Bangladesh for the 61st edition of the Miss International pageant, hosted in Tokyo.[6] [7] Competing with representatives from 70 countries, Ananna showcased Bangladesh on the international stage in the Miss International 2023 beauty pageant. Charitable works

COVID-19

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Farzana Yasmin Ananna actively engaged in supporting those in need.[10] In response to the challenges posed by the pandemic, she extended assistance to approximately 700 unemployed individuals by personally delivering relief to their homes.[11]

Between April 1 and April 4, 2020, Ananna played a pivotal role in aiding over four hundred families, providing essential items such as food and other necessities.[3][12]

Khulna Flood

Ananna traveled to the Koira area on the Sundarbans coast of Khulna, approximately five hours away from Jessore. During these visits, she delivered relief assistance to families facing difficulties.[13]

Sylhet Flood

Ananna assembled a team, consisting of numerous students from Dhaka University, to assist her in the distribution of food and other essential living necessities during the last week of June in 2022.[14]

Politics

Ananna joined politics since her first year of university life. On Sunday (July 31, 2022), Chatra League president Al Nahian Khan Joy and general secretary Bhattacharya announced the nomination of Farzana Yasmin Ananna as secretary of affairs in the sub-community of the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Chhatra League. Her father has been associated with Chatra League since 1976. She has been involved in Chatra League politics for the past seven years. An active member of Dhaka University Chatra League for five years from 2019 to 2023.[15][16]
