Forshki-ye Chukam (Шаблон:Lang-fa, also Romanized as Forshkī-ye Chūkām; also known as Forshkī)[1] is a village in, and the capital of, Forshki Rural District of Chukam District, Khomam County, Gilan province, Iran.[2]
At the 2006 census, its population was 1,198 in 344 households, when it was in the former Chukam Rural District (now Eshkik Rural District) of the former Khomam District of Rasht County.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 1,194 people in 392 households.[4] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,000 people in 330 households.[5]
In August 2019, the district was separated from the county, in order to establish Khomam County, and divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Khomam as its capital and only city.[2] In March 2023, the village of Bala Mahalleh-ye Chukam in Chukam District was elevated to the status of a city as Chukam.[6]
