The Frasin–Gura Humorului gas field is a natural gas field located in Gura Humorului, Suceava County. It was discovered in 1971 and developed by Romgaz. It began production in 1972 and produces natural gas and condensates. The total proven reserves of the Frasin–Gura Humorului gas field are around 36 billion cubic feet (1 km³), and production was slated to be around 4.9 million cubic feet/day (0.14×105m³) in 2010.[1]

According to official data from January 2017, the Frasin–Gura Humorului gas field had proven reserves of Шаблон:Cvt of natural gas and Шаблон:Cvt of condensates, which were estimated to last until 2029. The cumulative production up to that date was Шаблон:Cvt of natural gas and Шаблон:Cvt of condensates.[2]

The Frasin–Gura Humorului gas field is connected to the municipality of Câmpulung Moldovenesc by a pipeline. The pipeline was completed in December 2010, at a cost of 6 million.[3] In 2015, a new gas deposit was discovered at Frasin (within the perimeter of the Frasin-Gura Humorului gas field), at a depth of Шаблон:Cvt.[4] The commissioning of the new Frasin–Gura Humorului well and of a new well at the Caragele gas field led to an increase of 155% in gas condensate production by Romgaz in the first half of 2015.[5]

A controversy arose in 2018, when it was revealed that a well from Frasin, dug in the 1970s and later taken out of use, contaminated the waters of the Moldova River, as a result of the erosion of the left bank.[6] In 2023, it was announced that a new gas well will start production at Frasin within a year.[7]
