Шаблон:No footnotes Fraternal correction (correctio fraterna) is a Christian social practice in which a private individual confronts a peer directly, and ordinarily privately, about a perceived wrongdoing, as opposed to an official discipline passed down by a superior.
In Roman Catholic ethics, fraternal correction is sometimes obligatory on pain of mortal sin, though not in the case of someone who offends through invincible ignorance.
