He played center for the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts from 1902 to 1904 and served as the head football coach at his alma mater in 1906, compiling a record of 4–3–1.[1][2][3] King died at the age of 80, on February 6, 1961, at his home in Springfield, Massachusetts.[4]
