The Golden Scythe Horror Awards (often abbreviated to GSHA)[1][2] is an awards show presented annually by the Golden Scythe Committee to honor the finest in horror cinema.[3][4][5][6] Written ballots are submitted during a week-long nominating period, and the resulting nominees are announced in December. The winners chosen by subsequent voting are revealed at the annual Golden Scythe Horror Awards ceremony the following year.[7]

History

According to the organization's official website, "The Golden Scythe Horror Awards (GSHA) were created in order to shine a spotlight and to honor the very best that horror cinema has to offer on a yearly basis. We believe that horror is the most underappreciated genre, albeit the genre with the most versatility."[8]
