Guru Nanak Dev University campus is spread over 500 acres (200 ha) near Kot Khalsa, approximately eight km (5.0 mi) west of Amritsar on the Amritsar-Lahore highway, next to Khalsa College. The university was founded in 1969 and is named after the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev.
