Hassalstrongylus is a genus of nematode worms that infect mostly muroid rodents from eastern North America to South America. The genus is part of the Heligmonellidae and related to genera like Stilestrongylus.[1]
- Hassalstrongylus aduncus (Sigmodon hispidus, Rattus sp.)[2]
- Hassalstrongylus argentinus[3]
- Hassalstrongylus beta[3]
- Hassalstrongylus bocqueti[4] (Oryzomys couesi, Handleyomys melanotis, Oligoryzomys fulvescens)[5]
- Hassalstrongylus chabaudi (Wiedomys pyrrhorhinos)[6]
- Hassalstrongylus dessetae (Neacomys sp.)[7]
- Hassalstrongylus dollfusi (Mus musculus)[8]
- Hassalstrongylus echalieri (Oryzomyini sp.)[6]
- Hassalstrongylus epsilon (Nectomys squamipes,[9] Akodon cursor)[10]
- Hassalstrongylus forresteri[11][Note 1]
- Hassalstrongylus hoineffae (Oligoryzomys nigripes, Calomys callosus, Wiedomys pyrrhorhinos)[12]
- Hassalstrongylus lichtenfelsi[11]
- Hassalstrongylus mazzai[3]
- Hassalstrongylus musculi[11][Note 1] (Oryzomys couesi, Handleyomys melanotis, Oligoryzomys fulvescens)[5]
- Hassalstrongylus proechimysi[13]
- Hassalstrongylus puntanus (Graomys griseoflavus)[8]
- Hassalstrongylus schadi[3]
- Hassalstrongylus zeta (Galea spixii, Cerradomys subflavus, Nectomys squamipes, Oligoryzomys nigripes,[12] Akodon cursor, Euryoryzomys russatus)[10]
The proposed species Hassalstrongylus multiovatus, described from Akodon simulator, is a synonym of Trichofreitasia lenti from Oligoryzomys flavescens.[14]
