History

Settlement began at what is now Homeworth about 1840.[3] Homeworth was platted in 1851 when the Cleveland and Pittsburgh Railroad was extended to that point.[4] Early variant names were Winchester and Sandy.[4] A post office called Sandy was established in 1830, and the name was changed to Homeworth in 1869.[5]

Geography

Homeworth is located in northwestern Columbiana County, in the southwestern part of Knox Township. It is located in the valley of Middle Sandy Creek near its headwaters. Its elevation is Шаблон:Convert above sea level. The city of Alliance is Шаблон:Convert to the northwest. Salem is Шаблон:Convert to the northeast, and Canton is Шаблон:Convert to the west.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the Homeworth CDP has a total area of Шаблон:Convert, of which Шаблон:Convert is land and Шаблон:Convert, or 1.18%, is water.[6]

Children in Homeworth are served by the West Branch Local School District. The current schools serving Homeworth are:
