The Green House, also known as Hotel Green House, is an eco-centered hotel located in Karimenga along the Bolgatanga road in the North-East Region of Ghana.[1][2]
The Green House is located thirty minutes away by car from Bolgatanga. Ibrahim, a visionary local, is the owner of the eco-guest house in Karimenga. Ibrahim was passionate about organic farming and mud architecture. Only five rooms make up Green House, which was originally constructed without electricity using mud and clay. Its earthen stairs lead up to its flat roofs, which are a feature common to the area's architecture.[3] This allows boarders to sleep there when the weather gets too hot. There are opportunities for guests to get involved with the local communities, including trips to Ibrahim's farm, beekeeping lessons, and cooking Ghanaian cuisine with Felicia, the guest house cook.[4][5] Upon entering The Green House for the first time, a brief wall must be crossed by the visitor. As a result, you become a member of the family and symbolize your first visit.[6]
When you return to The Green House after doing this, you can enter through the main entrance.[7]
Ecological importance
The Green House encompasses the biodiversity of its environment by maintaining a healthy balance between the indigenous inhabitants, the trees or farms, and the animals.[8]
