"I Like the Way You Kiss Me" is a song by British producer Artemas. It was released independently by Artemas on 19 March 2024 and follows his debut mixtape Pretty (2024).
Background
Following the release of his debut mixtape Pretty in February 2024 and having hosted two shows at The Lower Third in London, the producer returned to the recording studio and created "I Like the Way You Kiss Me".[1] Artmeas announced the single on 15 March on his social media.[2]
Composition
"I Like the Way You Kiss Me" is a "hyper-futuristic pop" song[1] fueled by "moody 808s and pulsating synths" featuring a "dark, retro-futuristic sound collage". Artemas lends his "crooning, gloomy" vocals on the chorus as a counterpart to the "kinetic energy" of the whole track. Lyrically, he presents a story of a strained relationship, being unsure of where he and his partner stand.[3] Eventually, he confesses that he favours sex over feelings "by pushing harder for the physicality".[4]
