The Lobos were led by Danny Gonzales in his fourth year as New Mexico's head coach. They played their home games at University Stadium in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Gonzales was fired following the conclusion of the season. He finished his tenure at New Mexico with a record of 11–32.[1]
