The village of Josefovice is an administrative part of Hrabyně.

Geography

Hrabyně is located about Шаблон:Convert southeast of Opava and Шаблон:Convert northwest of Ostrava. It lies in the Nízký Jeseník range. The highest point is at Шаблон:Convert above sea level.

History

The first written mention of Hrabyně is from 1377, when it was a part of the Duchy of Troppau.[1]

Economy

Hrabyně is known for the Rehabilitation Institute Hrabyně, which was founded in the 1950s. It deals with the treatment of patients with musculoskeletal and nervous system disorders.[2]

Transport

The I/11 road from Ostrava to Opava passes through the municipality.

Sights

The main landmark is the World War II Memorial. It was built in 1970–1980 as a reminder of the liberation struggles in the region at the end of World War II. It is administered by the Silesian Museum in Opava.[3][4]
