Plot
The show revolves around Illakkiya, a kind-hearted and selfless girl. She stays with her mother and younger brother in her maternal uncle Mashilamani's home after her father leaves the family to fend for themselves. Though Mashilamani is kind to their family, his wife Chinntamani Mashilamani and daughter Anjali continues to torture them. Illakkiya works as a teacher in a local school so she can pay for her brother's studies and the rent they give to their evil aunt Chinntamani. Meanwhile, a rich family is looking for a bride for their first son Gowtham. Gowtham is a young and renowned businessman in the city of Chennai. The family astrologer says they need to find a bride with matching kundli before he turns 30 or Gowtham's life is in danger. The astrologer is also well-connected to the Illakkiya family and is aware of her kundalini. He suggested to Gowtham's family that Illakkiya would be a suitable bride to their family and that her kundalini matches Gowtham's kundalini. Due to some confusion, Gowtham's family assumes Anjali is the bride and they make arrangements for the wedding. On the day of her wedding, Anjali elopes with her boyfriend to act in movies. But it was later revealed to be a ploy by her boyfriend Biker Mahesh to steal all the jewellery and sell her to a director. With no other choice, Illakkiya had to marry Gowtham.
