In its sixth season under head coach William D. Murray, the team compiled a 5–3 record and outscored opponents by a total of 107 to 95. Robert Campbell and Eugene Carrell were the team captains.[1]

Delaware was ranked at No. 143 in the final Litkenhous Difference by Score System ratings for 1948.[2]

The team played its home games at Wilmington Park in Wilmington, Delaware.
