Led by seventh-year head coach Dan Fitzgerald, the Bulldogs were Шаблон:Nowrap overall in the regular season Шаблон:Nowrap and played their home games on campus at the Charlotte Y. Martin Centre (formerly known as Kennedy Pavilion) in Spokane, Washington.

At the third conference tournament, the Zags lost again in the quarterfinals, this time to eventual champion Loyola Marymount, to finish at Шаблон:Winpct.[1][2] Their first tournament wins came three years later in 1992; they advanced to the final,[3] but fell by three to top-seeded Pepperdine.[4]
