Presidential election
Шаблон:Main An election was held on 15 July 2002 to elect the President of India. On 18 July 2002, the results were declared. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam became the 11th President by beating his nearest rival Lakshmi Sahgal.[4]

Vice-Presidential election

An election was held on 12 August 2002 to elect the newly vacated post of Vice-President of India. Bhairon Singh Shekhawat defeated Sushil Kumar Shinde to become 11th Vice President of India.[5] Incumbent VP Krishan Kant did not contest the election and died before the election occurred.
