Английская Википедия:2010 Malabon local elections
Local elections were held in Malabon on May 10, 2010, as part of the Philippine general election. Several local posts in the city were on the ballot, including the mayor, vice mayor, one representative, and the twelve councilors for the city's two districts (six for each district).
Background
Mayor Canuto Senen "Tito" Oreta ran for his third and final term unopposed.
Vice Mayor Arnold Vicencio did not ran for re-election, instead he ran for congressional race. His party had no candidate for vice mayor. His seat was contested by Councilor Antolin "Lenlen" Oreta III, former mayoral candidate Ma. Lourdes Yambao, former councilor Pablo Cabrera Sr., and Salvador Beo Sr.
Rep. Josephine Veronique "Jaye" Lacson-Noel ran for her first full-term after replacing Alvin Sandoval from winning an electoral protest. She assumed congressional seat in 2009.[1] This time, she ran for lone district of Malabon. Lacson-Noel was challenged by former Vice Mayor Mark Allan Jay "Jayjay" Yambao, Vice Mayor Arnold Vicencio, former Rep. Federico "Ricky" Sandoval II, and Bobby Genorga.[2] Sandoval and Yambao both ran under Lakas–CMD.
