Шаблон:Infobox election A leadership election was held on 8 September 2015 to elect the next president of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan for a new 3-year term. Incumbent president Shinzo Abe was running for re-election. There were no other candidates besides Abe, so Abe was re-elected.

Candidate

Announcement was scheduled on 8 September, and Vote counting was scheduled on 20 September. However, there were no candidates other than the incumbent Shinzo Abe. Abe won re-election without a vote. In addition to Abe, Seiko Noda, a former member of the Liberal Democratic Party's General Affairs Council, expressed her willingness to run, but failed to attract 20 endorsements and announced on the announcement day that she would give up running.[1]
