Шаблон:Short description Шаблон:Use mdy dates Шаблон:Infobox NCAA football yearly game The 2023 Alamo Bowl is a college football bowl game that is scheduled to be played on December 28, 2023, at the Alamodome located in San Antonio, Texas. The 31st annual Alamo Bowl game will feature the Oklahoma Sooners from the Big 12 Conference and Arizona Wildcats from the Pac-12 Conference. The game is scheduled to begin at 8:15 p.m. CST and will air on ESPN. The Alamo Bowl will be one of the 2023–24 bowl games concluding the 2023 FBS football season. The bowl game will be sponsored by Valero Energy, and the game will be officially known as the Valero Alamo Bowl.

Teams

Consistent with conference tie-ins, the game will feature the Oklahoma Sooners from the Big 12 Conference and Arizona Wildcats from the Pac-12 Conference. This will be the third meeting between the two teams with the series being tied 1-1 with Arizona winning the last time the two teams met in 1989.

Arizona

Шаблон:Main This will be Arizona's second Alamo Bowl; the Wildcats had previously lost the 2010 edition to Oklahoma State 36–10. It will also be Arizona's final game as a member of the Pac-12, as the Wildcats are set to move to the Big 12 for the 2024 season.  

Oklahoma

Шаблон:Main Oklahoma began the season looking to improve on their previous 6-6 season and make a return to the Big 12 Conference championship game. Starting the season winning its slate of non conference games Oklahoma continued its success into conference games beating Cincinnati, Iowa State, Texas, and UCF before suffering two consecutive loses to Kansas and Oklahoma State. Following those loses Oklahoma beat West Virginia, BYU, and TCU to finish the season with an overall 10–2 record, 7–2 in Big 12 games tied for second place just missing the conference championship game.

This will be Oklahoma's second Alamo Bowl; the Sooners had previously won the 2021 edition of the game, defeating Oregon 47–32. It will also be Oklahoma's final game as a member of the Big 12, as the Sooners are set to move to the Southeastern Conference for the 2024 season.
