The Gamecocks played their home games at Williams–Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina, and were led by Shane Beamer in his third year as their head coach.

This is also expected to be the final year for the East division as Texas and Oklahoma will join the SEC in 2024.

In the final year of the SEC East,^[1]^[2] South Carolina finished sixth in their division, with an overall record of 5–7. Quarterback Spencer Rattler played his last season before declaring for the NFL Draft.^[3]^[4]
