The 2024 Michigan Democratic presidential primary will be held on February 27, 2024, as part of the Democratic Party primaries for the 2024 presidential election. 140 delegates to the Democratic National Convention will be allocated to presidential candidates.[1] The contest will take place concurrently with its Republican counterpart.

Incumbent President Joe Biden announced on April 25, 2023, his bid for a second term. He faces a primary challenge from author, progressive activist, and 2020 presidential candidate Marianne Williamson, and Representative Dean Phillips.[2][3]

Candidates

The Michigan Secretary of State has identified the following candidates (listed alphabetically) as potential Democratic Party presidential candidates in 2024:[4]

Candidates who didn’t make the list above can make the ballot by filing a nominating petition with at least 14,020 valid signatures by December 8, 2023.[4][5]
