Ronald Chase Amick (May 5, 1999 – January 26, 2021), better known by his stage name 6 Dogs, was an American rapper.[1] He rose to fame when he released a music video for his song "Flossing.” His song "Faygo Dreams" was certified Gold by the RIAA on October 22, 2020.

Amick died on January 26, 2021. His posthumous and third studio album Ronald was released on March 12, 2021.[2][3][4][5][6]

Early life

Ronald Amick was born on May 5, 1999. He preferred to go by his middle name, Chase. He attended Alpharetta High School, where he started his music career as a 16 year-old junior.[7]

Career

6 Dogs began posting songs to SoundCloud in 2016 and in 2017 released his eponymous debut album 6 Dogs.[8] Shortly after, he signed a record deal with Interscope records in 2018,[8][6][2] leading him to pursue collaborations with rap media titans such as No Jumper, Cole Bennett, Benny Blanco, and Danny Wolf.

In 2018, 6 Dogs co-directed a music video for his single "Buttcheeks" with Executive Producer and Director Cole Bennett. Later that year, 6 Dogs and Danny Wolf released their collaborative project 6 Wolves,[5] which included rapper Yung Bans as the sole feature.[9] Also in 2018, 6 Dogs released his single "Off the Gas" featuring Lil Skies.[8] 6 Dogs left Interscope in 2019 to independently release his third studio album, Hi-Hats & Heartaches.[8][5]

6 Dogs has garnered over 250 million streams on streaming services such as YouTube, Soundcloud, Apple Music, and Spotify.

Death

On January 26, 2021, Amick accidentally fell from a building in Atlanta, Georgia, and died at the age of 21.
