Agriphila tristella, the common grass-veneer,[1][2] is a species of moth of the family Crambidae found in Europe and Asia.

Distribution and habitat

Agriphila tristella is found in grassy habitats.[3] It occurs across Europe[2] including the British Islands,[4] as well as in Asia,[1] including in Iran,[5] north-western India,[5] and Pakistan.[1] Its type locality is in Austria.[5]

Behaviour

In the UK, the moth flies from June to September.[3] It is nocturnal and attracted to light.[4][3]

The larvae feed on various grasses, such as Poa and Deschampsia species.
