Alex Kruz, aka Alex K. Rojas (born November 30, 1975) is an American public figure, director, producer, scientist, television, theater and film actor.[1][2][3]
Early life and career
Alex Kruz was born in New Jersey. He is of Ecuadorian descent.[4] He is an accomplished scientist with a Ph.D., having received letters of appreciation from the White House and President Joe Biden.[5] He has been inducted into the Marquis Who's Who registry for the year 2023.[6][7]
As an actor usually played the bad boyfriend on various TV shows and films. Worked opposite Bruce Willis in theatrical production at Creative Artist Agency before he retired. Played the Zorro character for Zorro Productions (owners of the brand) for live performances in Los Angeles involving sword and horsemanship after Antonio Banderas. Has had projects on the Academy Award Shortlist 3 times. Projects at Sundance and SXSW 2 times.[8] [9]
In 2014, Alex produces the short film “Godka Cirka", a hole in the sky, about the female genital mutilation in Somalia, directed by Alex Lora Cercos which premieres at Sundance. After a long festival run, it wins the Gaudí Awards.[10][11]
His next short film “Parivara”, co-directed with Alex Lora Cercos premiered at Cambridge Film Festival in 2016 and wins best documentary in several countries including the International Film Festival of New York.[12][13][14]
Kruz has directed films such as “Parivara”[3] and “Fallen: The Search of a Broken Angel”.[15][16][17] He received a nomination and won an award at the New York Emmy Awards alongside Alex Lora Cercos.[18][3]
Alex Kruz is involved in global charitable work, focusing on children's welfare and combating human trafficking.[19] He helped found the "Samarpan Foundation" (“Unconditional Service” in Sanskrit), a Nepal-based NGO, operating as a 501(c) organization.[20][21][3][19] Congressional Award for Humanitarianism 2018 from New York State and Chuck Schumer for his work fighting sex trafficking in the golden triangle and Nepal/India border.
