She won the silver medal in the [[Karate at the 2019 Pan American Games – Women's 50 kg|women's kumite 50Шаблон:Nbspkg]] event at the 2019 Pan American Games held in Lima, Peru.[2][3][4] In the final, she lost against Shannon Nishi of the United States.

In 2018, Hernández won the silver medal in the [[Karate at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games|women's kumite 50Шаблон:Nbspkg]] event at the Central American and Caribbean Games held in Barranquilla, Colombia.

In 2021, Hernández competed at the World Olympic Qualification Tournament held in Paris, France hoping to qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.[5] She was eliminated in her third match by Alexandra Recchia of France.
