Club career

NAC Breda

Trained through the youth ranks of Heerenveen, Noppert made his professional debut in 2014 for NAC Breda.[2]

Foggia

In January 2018, he was signed by Italian club Foggia.[3] After traveling by car from the Netherlands to Italy, his car was stolen by the Foggian Mafia.[4][5] He made his debut for the club on 28 April, in a 3–1 loss to Cittadella.[6] Three months later, the goalkeeper stopped a penalty in the game against Carpi, which ended with a score of 2-0 for Foggia.[4] Over the course of a season and a half, he played 8 matches in Serie B.[4] During his stay in Italy Noppert received the nickname Il Grattacielo ("The Skyscraper" in Italian) from the country's media due to his height.[4]

Dordrecht

On 12 September 2019, Noppert signed with Dordrecht.[7] After leaving the club he considered joining the police.[8]

Go Ahead Eagles

In January 2021, Noppert signed with Go Ahead Eagles until the end of the season.[9]

Heerenveen

Noppert returned to Heerenveen on 16 May 2022, signing a two-year deal.[10] It was his first season as a first-choice goalkeeper.[11] Noppert quickly impressed, so much so that Louis van Gaal called him up for the Netherlands squad for the World Cup on 11 November 2022,[12] where he also became first choice goalkeeper.[13] Upon return, Noppert played 3 matches for Heerenveen before being injured during a warming up on 25 January 2023.[14] What first looked to be a minor injury became a major one causing him to be out of play for a then unknown amount of time. After being out for 4 months and having undergone surgery, Noppert returned to the pitch in Heerenveen’s last match of the season against Go Ahead Eagles. In which he kept a clean sheet and won 2-0, sending Heerenveen into European play-offs.[15]

International career

Noppert was called up to the Netherlands national team in September 2022.[16] In November 2022, he was included in the nation's 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.[17][18] He discovered his inclusion in the squad on TV.[19]

Noppert made his international debut in his country’s opening match at the tournament against Senegal, a 2–0 victory.[20]
