Annabel Tollman (March 7, 1974[1] – June 5, 2013[2]) was a Belgian/British American fashion journalist and editor of Interview magazine.[3]

Early life

Annabel Tollman was born in Brussels, Belgium, where her family moved to London and later Western New York. She studied at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, located in London, UK. Following her graduation from Central Saint Martins, Tollman moved to New York, where she furthered her studies at the Parsons School of Design.

Career

Beginning her career, she served as an assistant to the British edition of Vogue magazine in her early twenties – before becoming the magazine's Fashion Director – for 12 years. She was the stylist and fashion director of a Bravo reality series.[4] Among her clients were Scarlett Johansson, Mariah Carey, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.[5] In 2011, The Hollywood Reporter placed her at 21 on its list of the 25 Most Powerful Stylists in Hollywood.[6] She was also the stylist and spokeswoman for eBay fashion.[7]

In 2010, she was voted one of the 50 most stylish New Yorkers by StyleCaster.[8]

Death

In June 2013, at age 39, Tollman died in her sleep, reportedly from a pulmonary embolism due to a blood clot.[9] Tollman was survived by her parents, Anthony and Isabella Tollman, and her siblings, Alexandra and Rupert Tollman.
