Mufti Muhammad Aslam Razvi Quadri (1934-6 January 2012)[1][2] also called Sher-e-Bihar was an Indian Sufi saint of Qadri-Razvi order belonging to the Barelvi movement of Sunni Islam.[3] He is buried in the Dargah Jamia Quadria Maksudpur in the Muzaffarpur district of Bihar,[4][5] and an annual Urs-e-Sher-e-Bihar is celebrated on t1 Safar, the death anniversary of Razvi.[6][7][8] He was often called as Zalzaliya, means the one who survived the 1934 Earthquakes.[9] He was a student of Mustafa Raza Khan Qadri, then Grand Mufti of India and elder son of Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi.[10]

Early life

Aslam Razvi was born in 1934 to Muhammad Qasim in Mahvara village of Aurai Block in Muzaffarpur district in Bihar.

He started his early education under the guidance of Maulvi Nisaruddin Attarvi, and later became a student and mureed of Mustafa Raza Khan Qadri and became his Khalifa.[11]

Teaching

Aslam Razvi started teaching in the Darul Uloom Manzar-e-Islam from 1955 on the order of Mustafa Raza Khan Qadri, later he established Madrasa Jamia Qadiriya in Maksudpur, Muzaffarpur district, Bihar.[12]
