Background

BBS Terefayina was founded on 12 April 2016 owning its license and registered with the Uganda Communications Commission.[3][4] The Buganda Kingdom led by Ronald Muwenda Mutebi ll owns the local television network with its transmitters located at Masengere building along Bulange way road in Mengo.[5] BBS Terefayina (Buganda Broadcasting Services) is better known for it's focus on politics and the local common person of Uganda hence it slogan “Terefayina Eyaffe”.[6] The television station has one of the biggest talk shows in the country, Amaaso Ku Ggwanga airing every Thursday night and brings together the different political leaders from the different political parties of Uganda. The television company celebrated its seventh anniversary of broadcasting on 19 August 2023 at Oasis Villa in Kazo.[7]

BBS Terefayina has several media personalities like Diana Nabatanzi who presents the Kiri Kitya lunch time show. It is among the most popular television shows in Uganda, Florence Nampijja,[8] Tash Hubby[9] and all working as program presenters at BBS Terefayina. The Television network is also found on the different pay TV channels like Startimes , GOtv, DStv and free to air decoders all accessible in Uganda.[10][11]

Diana Nabatanzi

Diana Nabatanzi is a Ugandan movie entertainer, essayist, television presenter and a script writer. Diana is well known for her program that airs on BBS Terefayina known as Kiri Kitya, one of the most watched lunch hour TV programs in Uganda. Nabatanzi has won different awards in HighSkool Awards as the most vibrant TV personality in Uganda for the year 2023.[12][13]
