Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (Шаблон:Translation) is an upcoming Hindi-language action-thriller film written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Zafar, Jackky Bhagnani, Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Himanshu Kishan Mehra under the banners of Pooja Entertainment and AAZ Films. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff in the title roles, alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, Alaya F, and Ronit Bose Roy.

The film was announced on 8 February 2022. Principal photography began in January 2023, with filming taking place at various locations across Mumbai, Scotland, London, Luton, Abu Dhabi, and Jordan. The soundtrack album is composed by Vishal Mishra, while Julius Packiam composed the background score, with Marcin Laskawiec as the cinematographer, and Steven H. Bernard as the editor. The visual effects are handled by DNEG.

Initially scheduled for a December 2023 release, the film is now scheduled for theatrical release on Eid 2024.

Production

Development

It was reported in December 2021 that Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff were coming together for Ali Abbas Zafar's next action film.[1] Eventually, the film was announced on 8 February 2022.[2]

Casting

After initial rumours of Janhvi Kapoor playing a key role in the film, Manushi Chhillar was reported to join the cast in November 2022.[3][4] In December 2022, Prithviraj Sukumaran was signed to play the main antagonist.[5] Sonakshi Sinha came on board in March 2023.[6][7] Shortly thereafter, Alaya F was roped in for the film.[8]

Filming

Principal photography commenced on 17 January 2023 at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai.[9] The first schedule included a dance number and an action scene shot in Bunker featuring Kumar and Shroff. Filming then moved to Film City where other action scenes were shot. On 19 February 2023, Zafar confirmed the first schedule wrap.[10]

On 28 February 2023, second schedule began in the United Kingdom in which a major chunk of the film was shot in Scotland, London and Luton before it ended on 12 April 2023. Some high-octane action sequences were filmed featuring cars, bikes, helicopters and tanks.[11] An action scene was shot at night in Paisley where a street was recreated as Shanghai.[12] Akshay Kumar also got injured while shooting a bike chase sequence.[13]

On 16 April 2023, last schedule began in Abu Dhabi with the shooting of a dance number at Emirates Palace featuring both Kumar and Shroff choreographed by Bosco-Caesar.[14] Action scenes featuring Cars, Bikes, Tanks, Horses, Dune Buggies, Plane, and Chinook helicopter were shot at Liwa Dessert.[15] Filming wrapped on 9 May 2023 except patchwork.[16] On 21 January 2024, the filming for three final songs kicked off in Jordan with Kumar, and Shroff, along with Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F.[17][18] On 1 February 2024, Kumar confirmed the schedule wrap.[19]

Post-production

The VFX work of the film was done by DNEG.[20]

Marketing

The first look poster was unveiled on 20 January 2024 and the teaser of the film was released on 24 January 2024.[21]

Release

Theatrical

In February 2022, the release date of the film was announced as 22 December 2023 (in the week of Christmas).[22] However, in May 2023, a new release date of Eid 2024 was announced by Pooja Entertainment.[23][24]

It is scheduled for release in Hindi alongside dubbed version in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages.[25]
