Шаблон:Infobox settlement Balakair Paddabil is located at Balakair of Karpara Union under Gopal Ganj Sadar Upazila in Gopal Ganj District Bangladesh.[1][2] Balakair Paddabil is one of the most scenic natural tourist attractions to see lotus flower of Bangladesh in an area of about a thousand bighas of water landform.[3][4][5]It is the only lotus flower area in Bangladesh. Many visitors from different parts of Bangladesh and also from abroad come together to see its natural beauties during the lotus flower's season.[6]

History

Balakair Paddabil is part of some of lower water land in the Karpara union, including Bangram Pocha Danga, Jhalla Danga, Molla Danga, part of Manikhar Bill of Kathi Union near Satpukur, North-western part of Kajulia Union, South-western part of Targram of Karpara Union. Although it is formed by various bills, it is locally known collectively as Balakair Paddabil by the local residents or the wanderlust tourists from different areas. In other words, this lotus blooms endlessly in several thousand bighas of land, as if to spread the immense beauty. However, during the dry season, some land is cultivated by different farmers for one time, sometimes the produce can be brought home and sometimes it is washed away by the tidal water.

Location

It is located at Balakair in Gopal Ganj Sadar Upazila Gopal Ganj. Its distance by road from Gopal Ganj district headquarter is about fifteen or sixteen kilometers North-East side. On its East side is Bil Bajunia, on its West side is Bangram, on its North side is Krishnapur and its South side is Manikhar, Bhojergati and Kathi areas.

Tourist attraction

A fair called 'Padda Fuler Mela' is held here every year to attract tourists. Which is published in various national dailies, electronic and print media. People who are thirsty for travel from different parts of the country rush here with their families to see its natural beauties. Students of various universities spend their leisure time here during the lotus season. High-ranking government officials, Secretaries, Parliamentarians, Ministers or people of equal status travel here for tourism purposes.[7]
