Baran Duz (Шаблон:Lang-fa, also Romanized as Bārān Dūz and Bārāndūz)[1] is a village in, and the capital of, Baranduz Rural District of the Central District of Urmia County, West Azerbaijan province, Iran.[2]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 834 in 224 households.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 672 people in 220 households.[4] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 632 people in 207 households.[5]

Duz (also spelled Diz, Dez, or Dezh) means castle in Old Persian.
